Borth Community Council Clerk & Councillors 2020 and Chairpersons Report 2018-2019

Waste Paper Bank on Borth CC Car Park. Friday 14th February 2020

Hi Everyone
You are no doubt aware the paper bank skip on the car park is a private contractor arrangement.  I have received a phone call this morning informing me that the paper bank will be permanently withdrawn within the next week, the company have informed me the price of paper has dropped dramatically and it is now costing them to have the skip on the car park hence the reason for removing;  they will be removing other paper bank skips they own within the county.

Subject: 15th - 16th February 2020 - Storm Dennis - Cambrian Lines

Good afternoon, just some news for the weekend.

Shrewsbury Aberystwyth Rail Liaison Committee - announcement for weekend 15/16th February travel from Transport for Wales:
Whilst TFW are not planning to suspend services on any routes, there will be a 50mph speed restriction on all routes from 12:00 to 18:00. These will remain in place all day west of Swansea, west of Bangor and west of Talerddig (Cambrian line).
A number of other mitigations will be in place including:
  • Terminating Cheltenham services at Gloucester (XC provide service to Cheltenham). We will restart Maesteg services at Cardiff
  • The Conwy Valley and Cambrian Coast line remain closed as a result of damage from Storm Ciara last week
  • Terminating Marches services to Manchester at Crewe
  • Terminating Ebbw Vale to Bridgend services at Cardiff.
TFW are working closely with our partners in Network Rail to monitor high risk flooding areas and it is likely there will be some alterations and cancellations during the day on Saturday and Sunday, depending on conditions.
Standby buses will be in place at key locations.

Kind regards
