Y parthau diogel cyntaf ar waith yng Ngheredigion

10 Gorffennaf 2020

Mae’r parthau diogel cyntaf i gerddwyr yn cael eu rhoi ar waith mewn pedair canol tref yng Ngheredigion.

Mae Cyngor Sir Ceredigion am greu trefi diogel a chroesawgar i bobl ddod i siopa a mwynhau. Wrth i gyfyngiadau’r cyfnod clo gael eu llacio’n araf yn y sir, a gan fod y gofynion o ran cadw pellter cymdeithasol yn parhau i fod yn bwysig, mae angen addasu’r trefi oherwydd rhesymau’n ymwneud ag iechyd y cyhoedd. Mae Ceredigion wedi bod yn llwyddiannus iawn yn y frwydr yn erbyn lledaeniad y coronafeirws, a hoffai i’r llwyddiant hwn barhau er lles ei dinasyddion.

Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Aberteifi a Chei Newydd fydd y trefi cyntaf lle bydd y parthau hyn yn cael eu gweithredu.

Bydd y gofod a fydd yn cael ei greu drwy gael gwared â thraffig yn ystod y dydd yn caniatáu i’r cyhoedd symud yn ddiogel o fewn y parthau a hefyd yn caniatáu i fasnachwyr/busnesau ddefnyddio mwy o’r ardal y tu allan o dan gytundeb â’r Cyngor.

I wneud hyn bydd rhai ffyrdd ar gau i draffig, bydd palmentydd yn cael eu clirio, gofynnir i ymwelwyr barcio i ffwrdd o ganol y trefi am ddim a bydd arwyddion yn cael eu cyflwyno i helpu ymwelwyr i gynnal pellteroedd diogel.

Bydd parthau diogel yn cael eu creu drwy gau ffyrdd a chael gwared â pharcio ar y stryd o 11am – 6pm bob dydd o ddydd Llun 13 Gorffennaf. Mae rhestr o strydoedd sy’n cau yn Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Aberteifi, Cei newydd i’w gweld yma www.ceredigion.gov.uk/ParthauDiogel.

Mae’r Cyngor wedi gweithredu mor gyflym â phosib i roi’r trefniadau hyn ar waith a bydd y trefniadau cychwynnol hyn yn cael eu hadolygu’n barhaus. Bydd gwybodaeth yn cael ei rhannu â masnachwyr a perchnogion busnesau er mwyn sicrhau y gellir trefnu i dderbyn cyflenwadau. Fodd bynnag, cynghorir busnesau i wneud trefniadau i dderbyn cyflenwadau y tu allan i’r cyfnod cau, a dim ond pan na fydd hynny’n bosibl y dylid cysylltu â’r Cyngor i drefnu cymorth brys neu annisgwyl. Bydd yr un peth yn berthnasol i breswylwyr.

Dyma’r cynllun cyntaf yn rhan o’r mesurau ar gyfer trefi a fydd yn cael eu cyflwyno fesul tipyn. Cyflwynwyd y mesurau gan ddefnyddio pwerau brys i sicrhau bod trefi yn llefydd mwy diogel i ymweld â nhw er mwyn i’n cymunedau lleol ac ymwelwyr gerdded o gwmpas, siopa a mwynhau'r hyn y gall ein trefi gynnig. O ystyried y cynnydd tebygol yn nifer y bobl yn y sir yn ystod yr haf, dim ond os byddwn yn creu mwy o le i bobl yn hytrach na cheir y gellir gwneud hyn yn ddiogel.

Nid yw'r parthau diogel wedi'u cynllunio i alluogi pobl i yfed ar strydoedd ein trefi. Lle ceir Gorchmynion Diogelu Mannau Cyhoeddus, ni chaniateir yfed ar y strydoedd heblaw am mewn man dynodedig sydd â thrwydded gymeradwy.

Bydd y parthau diogel hyn yn cael eu hadolygu i sicrhau y gellir gwneud unrhyw ddiwygiadau angenrheidiol mor gyflym â phosib. Yn ystod cyfnod yr argyfwng byddwn yn ymgynghori ac yn ymgysylltu â busnesau, trigolion ac ymwelwyr i ystyried y ffordd orau ymlaen yn y tymor canolig i’r tymor hir.

Bydd y parthau diogel hyn yn cael eu cyflwyno yn Aberporth, Borth, Llanbedr Pont Steffan a Thregaron yn yr wythnosau nesaf a bydd opsiynau yn cael eu archwilio ar gyfer Llandysul.

Bydd eithriadau i'r gwaharddiad ar gerbydau modur yn y parthau hyn yn cynnwys y gwasanaethau brys a chwmnïau cyfleustodau ond dim ond ar gyfer gwaith diogelwch/mewn argyfwng. Mae meysydd parcio ar gael o amgylch y trefi a fydd ar gael i’w defnyddio am ddim. Bydd darpariaeth parcio ychwanegol i'r anabl (bathodyn glas) yn cael ei nodi ar y cynlluniau. Atgoffir preswylwyr i gyflwyno eu gwastraff domestig mewn cynhwysydd addas erbyn 08:00 ar y diwrnod casglu yn unig. Mae rhagor o wybodaeth ar gael ar: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/ailgylchu

Arhoswch yn lleol a chefnogwch yn lleol er mwyn cadw Ceredigion yn ddiogel.

First safe zones in place in Ceredigion

10 July 2020

The first Ceredigion safe zones for pedestrians are being put in place in four town centres.

Ceredigion County Council wants to create safe, inviting towns for people to come shopping and to enjoy. With the slow easing of the lockdown in the county and with social distancing requirements still being important, it is necessary to make adjustments to the towns for public health reasons. Ceredigion has prevailed extremely well in its defence against the spread of coronavirus and wishes for this success to continue for the wellbeing of its citizens.

Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Cardigan and New Quay are the first towns to see these zones implemented.

The ‘space’ created by removing traffic during the day time will allow the public to move around in safety within the zone areas and also facilitate traders and businesses to make more use of the outside space under agreement with the Council.

To do this, some roads will be closed to traffic, pavements will be de-cluttered, visitors will be asked to park away from the town centres for free and signage will be introduced to help visitors maintain safe distancing.

Safe zones will be created by closing roads and removing on-street parking from 11am – 6pm daily from Monday, 13 July 2020. A list of the roads that will be closing in Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Cardigan and New Quay are available here: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/SafeZones

The Council has acted as quickly as possible to put these arrangements in place and these initial arrangements will be continually reviewed. Information will be shared with traders and business owners within the safe zone and we will continue to work with them to ensure that deliveries of supplies can be facilitated. However, business are advised to make arrangements for deliveries to be made outside the closure period and only when this is not possible to do so contact the Council to arrange for urgent or unforeseen assistance. The same will apply to residents.

This is the first plan as part of staggered measures for towns. The measures have been introduced using emergency powers to ensure towns are safer places to visit for our local communities and visitors to walk around, shop and enjoy what are towns can offer. Given the likely increase in the numbers of people in the County during the summer, this can only be done safely if we create more space for people rather than for cars.

The safe zones are not designed to enable people to drink on the streets of our towns. Where Public Space Protection Orders exists, no drinking will be allowed on the streets unless in a designated space which has an approved licence.

These safe zones will be reviewed to ensure that if there are any amendments needed that these can be made as quickly possible. During the emergency period we will be consulting and engaging with businesses, residents and visitors to consider to the best way forward in the medium to longer term.

Aberporth, Borth, Lampeter and Tregaron will see safe zones introduced in the coming weeks and options will be explored for Llandysul.

Exemptions to the prohibition of motorised vehicles entering these zones will include the emergency services and utility companies but only for emergency/safety related works. Car parks are available around the towns which will be free to use. Additional disabled (blue badge) parking provision will be noted on the plans. Residents are reminded only to present their domestic waste in a suitable container by 8:00am on the day of collection. Further information is available at: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/recycling

Stay local and support local to keep Ceredigion safe.

Information related to the Coronavirus can be found on the Council’s website, www.ceredigion.gov.uk/Coronavirus

Dechrau’n Deg Ceredigion yn darparu yn rhithiol

13 Gorffennaf 2020

Mae tîm Dechrau'n Deg wedi bod yn brysur yn addasu eu gwasanaethau yn ystod pandemic COVID-19.

Fel y bydd nifer o rieni a theuluoedd yn ymwybodol, yn ôl ym mis Mawrth 2020, bu'n rhaid i Dechrau'n Deg Ceredigion roi'r gorau i ddarparu'r amserlen arferol o weithgareddau llawn oherwydd COVID-19. Er nad yw sesiynau grŵp a gwasanaethau wyneb yn wyneb yn cael eu cynnal bellach, mae tîm Dechrau'n Deg wedi bod yn brysur yn addasu eu gwasanaethau ac yn parhau i ddarparu cymorth dros y ffôn, drwy neges destun, e-bost, negeseuon mewn sgyrsiau grŵp, Zoom a thrwy ein tudalennau ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol.

Er na all Ymwelwyr Iechyd gefnogi teuluoedd wyneb yn wyneb gymaint ag y byddent yn ei wneud fel arfer, mae pob elfen o raglen Plant Iach Cymru yn parhau i gael eu darparu yn rhithiol, gyda staff yn manteisio ar sianeli megis WhatsApp a Skype. Mae Ymwelwyr Iechyd ynghyd â Therapyddion Iaith a lleferydd bellach yn treialu adnodd ‘Attend Anywhere’ sy’n cynnig system apwyntiadau ar-lein. Mae Gweithwyr Cymorth Teulu, Therapyddion Iaith a Lleferydd, Swyddogion Rhianta a Staff Gofal Plant wedi addasu i gynnig cyrsiau rhianta, iaith a chyfathrebu 1-1 a grŵp yn rhithiol.

Ers i weithgareddau wyneb yn wyneb ddod i ben, mae 23 o rieni wedi cael mynediad at 5 cwrs grŵp a dreialwyd hyd yma, gan gynnwys cyrsiau tylino babanod, Helpu fi Eich helpu chi, Y Blynyddoedd Rhyfeddol, a Family Links, ac anfonwyd llyfrau ac adnoddau eraill at deuluoedd i’w cefnogi i ymgymryd â chynnwys y cwrs. Mae’n well gan rieni eraill gymorth 1:1 ac mae cyrsiau rhianta wedi cael eu darparu gyda’r nos i gyd-fynd â phatrymau gweithio neu ofal plant.

Dywedodd un rhiant a fu’n cymryd rhan mewn cwrs rhianta ar-lein, “Fe wnaeth y cwrs hwn fy helpu’n fawr yn ystod y cyfnod clo. Mae gallu siarad â rhieni eraill wedi rhoi hwb i fy iechyd meddwl ac roedd yn braf gallu rhannu syniadau. Rhoddwyd cyngor gwych imi ynglŷn â sut i ddelio â strancio a dysgu fy merch fach i ddefnyddio’r tŷ bach. Byddwn yn argymell i unrhyw un ei wneud.”

Mae tudalen Facebook Teuluoedd Ceredigion Families yn rhannu gwahanol argymhellion, gweithgareddau, ac adnoddau bob dydd, gan gynnwys ryseitiau iachus, gweithgareddau lleferydd ac iaith, a syniadau celf a chrefft i’w gwneud gartref. Mae Tîm Dechrau’n Deg Ceredigion yn parhau i gynnig gwasanaeth Cadw mewn Cysylltiad, lle gall rhieni a theuluoedd sgwrsio â’u Gweithiwr Cymorth i Deuluoedd neu eu Hymwelydd Iechyd bob wythnos i gael cyngor, gwybodaeth a chymorth. Yn ogystal, mae’r tîm wedi paratoi bagiau gweithgareddau i deuluoedd Dechrau’n Deg yn barod i’w dosbarthu mewn pryd ar gyfer Gwyliau’r Haf.

Dywedodd Rhian Rees, Rheolwr Dechrau’n Deg, “Mae hwn yn gyfnod heriol i bawb – i staff yn ogystal â rhieni, ond efallai ei fod yn arbennig o heriol os ydych chi’n rhiant newydd neu os oes gennych blant ifanc adref. Rwy’n falch iawn o’n tîm yn Dechrau’n Deg sydd wedi addasu’n dda iawn ac wedi dangos ymrwymiad a thosturi tuag at ein teuluoedd. Mae rhieni sydd wedi gwneud cais am ein gwasanaeth ‘Cadw mewn Cysylltiad’ wedi dweud bod hyn wedi bod yn ddefnyddiol ac mae gwybod bod y tîm yno i siarad â nhw a chynnig cyngor a chymorth yn ôl yr angen yn gysur mawr. Mae ein tudalen ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol hefyd wedi bod yn llwyddiannus o ran rhannu adnoddau a syniadau y gall rhieni eu gwneud gyda’u plentyn gartref.”

Ceredigion Flying Start goes virtual

13 July 2020

The Flying Start team have been busy adapting their services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As many parents and families will be aware, Ceredigion Flying Start had to stop delivering the usual packed activity timetable due to COVID-19 back in March 2020. Although group sessions and face-to-face services are no longer taking place, the Flying Start team have been busy adapting their services and are continuing to provide support by phone, text, email, group chat messaging, Zoom and via our social media pages.

Whilst Health visitors’ ability to support families face to face has been reduced, all elements of the Healthy Child Wales programme continue to be delivered virtually with staff making best use of channels such as WhatsApp and Skype. Both Health Visitors and Speech and Language Therapists are now trialling a new ‘Attend Anywhere’ resource offering an online appointment system. Family Support Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Parenting Officers and Childcare Staff have adapted to offer various 1-1 and group parenting, language and communication courses virtually.

Since face to face activities were halted, 23 parents have accessed the 5 group courses trialled to date, including baby massage, Helping Me Helping You, Toddler Incredible Years and Family Links courses, with books and other resources sent to families to support them to engage with the course content. Other parents have preferred 1:1 support and parenting courses have been delivered in the evening in order to fit around people’s childcare or working patterns.

One parent who participated in a virtual parenting course said, “This course really helped me during lockdown. Being able to talk to other parents did wonders for my mental health and it was nice to share ideas. I was given great advice on how to deal with tantrums and potty training my little girl.  I would recommend anyone to do it.”

Teuluoedd Ceredigion Families Facebook Page posts various tips, activities and resources daily, including healthy recipes, speech and language activities and arts and crafts ideas to do at home. Ceredigion’s Flying Start Team are continuing to offer a Keeping in Touch service, whereby parents and families can chat to their Family Support Worker or Health Visitor every week for advice, information and support. In addition, the team have prepared activity bags for Flying Start families ready to be distributed in time for the Summer Holiday.

Rhian Rees, Flying Start Manager said, “This is a challenging time for all – staff and parents alike, but may be particularly challenging if you are a new parent or if you have young children at home. I am so proud of our Flying Start team, who have adapted really well, and have shown great commitment and compassion for our families. Parents who have requested our ‘Keeping in Touch’ service have commented that they have found this really useful and have taken comfort in knowing that the team are there to talk to and to offer advice and support as requested. Our social media page has also proved successful in sharing resources and ideas that parents can do with their child at home.”
